Oh My Gouda! Whole Foods Market’s ‘12 Days of Cheese’ Sale Starts Today

Between holiday parties, family gatherings and cold, early evenings, there’s no such thing as too much cheese during the winter months (or any time of the year, if we’re being completely honest). Whole Foods Market agrees, and thankfully just announced their annual “12 Days of Cheese” special for 2021.

Starting December 10, Whole Foods shoppers nationwide will be able to save 30 percent on 12 predetermined artisanal cheeses (some of which are Whole Foods exclusives) through December 21. Even better? Amazon Prime members can save an additional 10 percent.

Here’s this year’s “12 Days of Cheese” lineup:

  • Klare Melk Truffle Gouda: an exclusive Dutch semi-firm cheese with that’s rich with notes of sweet cream and laced with earthy truffles

  • Uplands Pleasant Ridge Reserve: a cow’s milk, Alpine-style, semi-firm cheese that tastes like fresh milk, nuts and grass

  • Neal’s Yard Dairy Keen’s Cheddar: an English raw-milk cheddar that’s dense, creamy and impossible not to love

  • Cellars at Jasper Hill Gin-Washed Harbison: an exclusive, award-winning cheese soaked in juniper leftover from gin production; woodsy, sweet and vegetal

  • Quadrello di Bufala: a creamy, refreshing, salty and grassy Italian cheese made from water buffalo milk

  • Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog: a soft-ripened goat cheese with floral, herbaceous overtones and a ribbon of edible ash through the center

  • MonS Mary dans les Eětoiles: an exclusive soft-ripened, Chabichou-style goat cheese from France that’s earthy, rich, grassy and coated in ash

  • Rogue Creamery Enraptured Cherries Jubilee: an exclusive buttery, rich blue cheese that’s studded with organic wine-soaked cherries

  • Corcuera Campo de Montalban: an aged semi-firm cheese made from sheep and goat milks; smooth, mild and nutty with balanced acidity

  • Cowgirl Creamery Organic Mt Tam: a savory triple-cream cheese with notes of salted butter, fresh cream and white mushrooms

  • Agour Ossau-Iraty PDO: a smooth, semi-firm cheese from France that boasts buttery flavor and a black olive-hazelnut finish; it’s been named Best Cheese in the World twice

  • Kaltbach Cave-Aged Le Gruyčre AOP: a tangy, nutty raw cow’s milk cheese that’s aged in the sandstone caves of Kaltbach, Switzerland

If you need dessert after all that cheese shopping, prowl the frozen section for Milk Bar ice cream, which was released this year exclusively at Whole Foods (we’re sort of obsessed with the Cereal Milk flavor). Merry Cheesemas to all, and to all a good snack.
