Ohio basketball coaches honor Africentric's Swain, Pickerington Central's Greene

Africentric's Dailyn Swain and Pickerington Central's Madison Greene have earned top honors from the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.

Swain was named Division III boys Player of the Year and Greene was named Division I girls Player of the Year.

Swain, a 6-foot-8 Xavier signee, averaged 18.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 3.6 steals and 3.5 blocked shots. He led Africentric to a state semifinal, which the Nubians (22-6) lost 48-47 to Ottawa-Glandorf in double overtime.

The other boys honorees were Centerville's Gabe Cupps (Division I), Dayton Chaminade Julienne's George Washington III (Division II) and Dalton's Braylon Wenger (Division IV).

Pickerington Central's Madison Greene was named Division I girls Player of the Year by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.

Greene, a 5-7 Vanderbilt signee, averaged 15.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.2 assists while leading Central to a state semifinal. The Tigers (24-5) lost 58-53 to Olmsted Falls.

The other girls honorees were Canal Fulton Northwest's Lily Bottomley (Division II), Winchester Eastern's Rylee Leonard (Division III) and New Madison Tri-Village's Rylee Sagester (Division IV).

The coaches association previously announced its honors for coaches, including Ready's Tony Bisutti as Division II boys Coach of the Year and Grove City's Josh Blankenship as Division I girls Assistant Coach of the Year.
