Ohio BMV rejected more than 800 license plates in 2021. Here's what they said

In the world of Ohio license plates, 2021 was a bad year for President Joe Biden.

Proposed plates like FKB1DN, FUJOEB and FJBMAGA were among over 800 requests rejected by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, according to a list obtained by the USA TODAY Network Ohio Bureau. The BMV prohibits word and letter combinations that are profane, sexually explicit, advocate lawlessness or could provoke a violent response.

And there was plenty of that among last year's denied vanity plates.

One person unsuccessfully tried to get DRUG DLR sprawled across their car, while another invoked "The Shining" with REDRUM8. Lingering frustration over two years of the COVID-19 pandemic trickled into requests like 2020 FU and FFAUCI.

The BMV denied FU CNCR – a statement we can all get behind – and the less universal sentiment of H8OHIO.

There were also plenty of references to genitalia and other body parts, including multiple nods to the song "WAP" by Cardi B for the second year in a row.
