Ohio CPA firm to move regional HQ to Dublin

An accounting and business advisory firm headquartered in New Philadelphia is to establish its regional headquarters in Dublin.

Rea & Associates, Inc., founded in 1938, is a CPA and consulting firm with more than 400 associates in four Ohio locations and in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The CPA firm is to consolidate three offices at a new site in Dublin, as required under the conditions of an economic development agreement Dublin City Council approved Aug. 8.

The move is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2023 upon the completion of renovations, Doug Houser, regional president and director of construction and real estate services for Rea & Associates, Inc., said Sept. 21.

Houser would not yet disclose a precise location in Dublin, as the purchase agreement is not finalized.

It would replace the company’s current sites in Gahanna, downtown Columbus and at 5775 Perimeter Drive in Dublin. Its New Philadelphia office, serving as its current firm headquarters, would remain open as one of its 12 offices in the United States.

“We’ve long had a presence in Dublin but have outgrown our current building. We also had a strong desire to consolidate other operations that are currently housed in Gahanna and downtown Columbus under one roof. While we considered other options, it made the most sense to relocate in Dublin and combine those three locations,” Houser said.

“This office will serve as our regional hub, and we’ll host firmwide events with folks coming from Lima, Cleveland, Wooster and elsewhere."

The expansion is to add approximately 35 jobs to Dublin by the end of 2028, in addition to the existing 68 jobs in Dublin, according to Aisling Babbitt, public affairs officer for Dublin.

Dublin’s incentives to the CPA firm are valued at $283,000 in consideration of the company’s continued investment and planned workforce growth in Dublin, Babbitt said.

The incentive is contingent upon Rea & Associates, Inc. purchasing a new headquarters location at least 60,000 square feet in size in Dublin.

The city anticipates collecting $1.2 million in net income tax withholdings during the term of the agreement in force through the end of 2028, according to Babbitt.

Dublin Director of Economic Development Jennifer Klus said the city is pleased to reach the agreement.

“Through their long history and highly respected work as financial experts for businesses across Ohio, Rea and Associates combines industry expertise and a deep understanding of client needs to help achieve success. Their commitment to Dublin and expansion of their business here reaffirms our own understanding and support of their needs to empower their success. We’re excited to watch them grow in Dublin,” Klus said.
