Ohio native commits to play for Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The second-best high school football player in the state has committed to play for Ohio State University.

Toledo Whitmer junior Carter Lowe committed to the Buckeyes Saturday, joining the 2025 recruiting class.

The 6-foot, 5-inch, 290-pound offensive tackle picked Ohio State over Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee.

According to 247Sports, Lowe is ranked the second-best player in Ohio, the fourth-best OT in the country, and the 31st-best player nationwide. He’s the seventh player to commit to Ohio State’s 2025 class and the third in-state, the others being Tavien St. Clair from Bellefontaine and Eli Lee from Archbishop Hoban.
