Ohio ranks 22nd as best state for teachers to work, according to analysis
Ohio ranks 22nd overall in the nation as the best state for teachers to work in, according to a scholarship website.
Ohio was 12th for salary and compensation, according to Scholaroo, a website that connects students with scholarships.
But the Buckeye state was 22nd for work environment, 26th for career accessibility, 26th for student performance and 42nd for work benefits.

Ohio Education Association President Scott DiMauro said these rankings aren't something for Ohio teachers to celebrate.
“If you see that Ohio ranks kind of in the middle of the pack, the overall picture isn’t very great in terms of the gap between educators and other professionals,” DiMauro said. “What might seem to be decent in this particular running is actually a sad statement on where the rest of the country is.”
