Ohio State football is celebrating a century at the Horseshoe this year. In recognition of that, The Columbus Dispatch will be sharing special Ohio Stadium content throughout this week.

When Ohio State coach Jim Tressel was hired, he promised Buckeyes fans they would be proud of his team in 310 days when they traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Somehow, that gets remembered as a guarantee of victory. And maybe that's because OSU did indeed win their road game against Michigan that season 26-20.

The next season, they beat not only Michigan, but every team on their schedule, and it's hard to think of an unlikelier national champion than the 2002 Buckeyes, who won seven games by seven points or fewer and faced the highly favored Miami Hurricanes in the Fiesta Bowl.
