Ohio State basketball gets first exhibition win in the Bahamas

In case you lost sight of it, the Ohio State basketball team is getting some sun and shooting some hoops out in the Bahamas. We’re sure the squad is enjoying its time out at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, but there’s also some business to get down to on the court, and that’s getting a lot of new faces acclimated with some game time — albeit exhibition — as well.

So far so good, as the Buckeyes were able to dispose of the Egyptian national team on Saturday evening by a score of 72-68. And while there’s not a whole lot of media presence out there for OSU’s summer trip to the island, our friends at the Columbus Dispatch (Adam Jardy) did a fine job of keeping us all up to speed.

The Bucks went into the half down by just a couple of points, 34-32, but did well to stretch out a lead in the second half and then hold on for a four-point victory. We don’t have many stats for the game, but here’s a rundown of what the Dispatch’s Adam Jardy posted on his timeline as all the action unfolded so you can see how things played out from afar.

Pregame warm ups like you've likely never seen before

Not your traditional entrance, that's for sure

Will this team live and die by the 3-pointer?

The freshmen will have a big impact on this team. Mark it down.

A good spurt caused some separation in the first half

Buckeyes will have to figure out the size thing ...

Zed Key is going to be a problem this season

Some good, and some bad

Well, might as well get them used to it now

A good run to almost ice the game in the second half

Apparently freshman Roddy Gayle can do superhuman things

And ... that's a wrap!
