Ohio State football turns to Dallan Hayden, Xavier Johnson after Miyan Williams injury

Ohio State football is down another running back against Indiana.

Coming into their matchup against the Hoosiers without TreVeyon Henderson, Chip Trayanum and T.C. Caffey, the Buckeyes lost running back Miyan Williams at the end of the first half with an apparent ankle injury.

Williams had to be helped off the field before being carted to the locker room, showing the fans at Ohio Stadium an "O-H" as he left.

Ohio State had a season high 190 rushing yards in the first half.

Here's a look at the players who could see the bulk of the carries for Ohio State in the second half against Indiana.

Dallan Hayden was up first for Ohio State in the first half

When Williams needed a break in the run game, a freshman was the first one off the bench for the Buckeyes.

Dallan Hayden finished the half with 26 yards and a 14-yard touchdown on five carries in the first half against the Hoosiers.

A three-star running back out of Memphis, Hayden has appeared in six games for the Buckeyes in 2022, recording 255 rushing yards and a touchdown on 54 carries, including a 108-yard performance against Toledo where he scored his first career touchdown.

Xavier Johnson could be in store for some carries

To gain depth at running back, Ohio State has turned to the wide receiver room.

Wide receiver Xavier Johnson recorded three carries for 23 yards in Ohio State's 49-20 win against Michigan State Oct. 8. In his career, he has seven carries for 40 yards with a career-long of eight yards.

Ohio State also has walk-on running back Cayden Saunders available, who has two career carries for six yards.
