Ohio State football winless against spread in first two games of 2022 season

Ohio State football has done its job over the past two weeks.

Two weeks into the 2022 season, the Buckeyes are undefeated, earning wins against both Notre Dame and Arkansas State at Ohio Stadium.

But heading into a Week 3 matchup with Toledo, Ohio State has yet to win a game against the spread.

Coming into its Week 2 matchup favored to beat Arkansas State by 44.5 points, Ohio State beat the Red Wolves 45-12 Saturday afternoon, coming up 11.5 points short of the opening line.

The Buckeyes opened the season as 17.5-point favorites against then-No. 5 Notre Dame, but beat the Fighting Irish by 11.

Last season, the Buckeyes finished with a 7-6 record against the spread, failing to cover or losing against Oregon, Tulsa, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan and Utah during the 2021 season.
