Ohio State men's hockey enters NCAA Tournament as No. 3 seed, to face No. 2 Harvard Friday

Ohio State men's hockey team is heading to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.

After finishing third in the Big Ten with a 20-15-3 overall record, reaching the semifinals of the conference tournament before losing to Michigan, the Buckeyes will travel to Bridgeport, Connecticut, as a No. 3 seed and face No. 2 Harvard at 2 p.m. Friday.

Ohio State's meeting with the Crimson will be televised on ESPNU.

Ohio State and Harvard will play for a Saturday matchup against either No. 1 Quinnipiac — the No. 2 overall seed — or No. 4 Merrimack for a spot in the Frozen Four.

Ohio State beat Harvard 4-2 in their only previous meeting, in 2008.

Ohio State will play in its 10th NCAA Tournament with two Frozen Four appearances in 2018 and 1998.

The Buckeyes have the No. 1 penalty kill in the country (.895) with a top-17 scoring offense (3.21 goals per game), scoring defense (2.53 goals per game) and power play (.224) in the country.
