Ohio State to participate in 2023 Emerald Coast Classic holiday tournament

Ohio State’s men’s basketball team will spend its 2023 Thanksgiving in the Sunshine State.

The Buckeyes will participate in the Emerald Coast Classic held annually on the campus of Northwest Florida State College. The news, initially reported by CBS Sports and confirmed by The Dispatch, will see Ohio State head to Niceville for its second Florida trip in three years.

This season, the four-team event will feature Iowa, Clemson, TCU and California and play games on the Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving week.

Ohio State will participate in this year’s Maui Invitational during the holiday week. Last season, the Buckeyes played in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where they defeated Seton Hall and lost to Florida in the championship game.

According to CBS, Oregon and Alabama will also participate in the 2023 Emerald Coast Classic with the final team still to be determined.
