Ohio State University student dies during spring break

Ohio State University regularly uses the definitive article "The" in front of its name, as seen here in the university seal embedded in the pavement at the east entrance to the Oval on the main campus in Columbus.

A spokesman for the Ohio State University has confirmed that a student has died.

Henry Meacock, who is from New Jersey and who was majoring in finance at the university, died while Ohio State students were on spring break.

"The Ohio State community has suffered a tragic loss, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Henry Meacock," the university said in a statement. "Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time."

An obituary for Meacock was not immediately available, and his cause of death has not been released.
