'Ohio State would've won the natty': OSU football reacts to Georgia national championship win

Georgia had no problems against TCU.

The No. 1 Bulldogs blasted the No. 3 Horned Frogs 65-7 for their second-straight national championship, recording 589 yards of offense after recording five touchdowns in six first-half offensive drives.

In the third quarter, leading by 38 points, Georgia didn't wait to officially start celebrating.

But to Ohio State players, coaches and fans, all Monday's drubbing indicated was a missed opportunity.

Facing Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Peach Bowl Dec. 31, Ohio State kicker Noah Ruggles missed a 50-yard field goal wide left with three seconds left, giving the Bulldogs the 42-41 win despite scoring 40 points or more for the 10th time in 2022 with 467 yards of offense.
