Ohio State coach Ryan Day was not clear Thursday on if there were any limitations for Smith-Njigba if he were to return against the Hawkeyes.

“Those are the decisions that we continue, for all of our guys, look at and try to figure out how many plays is the right number,” Day said. “You hear people talk about a pitch count and things like that, we talk about those things all the time. That’ll be the case guys for some guys. Not in particular to Jaxon, that is the discussion going into games for some players.”

Smith-Njigba broke the Big Ten single-season receiving yards record in 2021 with 1,606 yards on 95 catches.
