Ohio State's Adelaide Aquilla wins NCAA shot put title with record throw

Ohio State's Adelaide Aquilla won the NCAA championship in the shot put for the second straight season. She broke the collegiate record with a best throw of 19.64m. She had the top four throws in the competition and beat the runner-up by more than one meter.

Ohio State's women were in sixth place with 10 points after the first day of competition. Aquilla earned those 10 points.

Anavia Battle broke her own school record in the 200m semifinals (22.26)  to secure a spot in the finals.

The 4x100m relay squad (Yanique Dayle, Anavia Battle, Nya Bussey, Leah Bertrand) (43.11) advanced to Saturday’s championships.
