Ohio State's Brice Sensabaugh to enter NBA draft process but retain his eligibility

Brice Sensabaugh has made one decision. Now the Ohio State forward has another one to make, and it’s a big one.
The freshman announced on his Instagram page that after a standout season with the Buckeyes he will be putting his name into the NBA draft process but that he will retain his collegiate eligibility for now.
“After steady thought and consideration, I am excited to announce I have decided to enter my name into the 2023 NBA Draft with the option to return to OSU,” Sensabaugh wrote.

A late-rising recruit in the national rankings, Sensabaugh made his debut at No. 254 in the 247Sports.com database at the end of June, 2021. Sensabaugh had missed his entire junior year at Orlando Lake Highland Prep due to a meniscus injury and issues with playing games during the COVID-19 pandemic, and he quickly made up for lost time while playing his way into the national spotlight.
By the end of the summer, Sensabaugh was a top-75 recruit who ultimately picked Ohio State from a list of four finalists that also included Florida, Alabama and Georgia Tech. He signed with the Buckeyes, earned Florida Mr. Basketball honors as a senior and immediately started to make noise in Columbus during the Kingdom Summer League, where he put up 50 points in one game.

It translated to his freshman season at Ohio State. Sensabaugh had 17 points in his debut against Robert Morris on Nov. 7 and would score in double figures in six straight before, after being held to 4 while battling foul trouble at Duke, he finished in double figures for 16 straight games.
He led Ohio State in scoring for 13 straight games, a program record for a freshman, and finished the year averaging a team-high 16.3 points while pulling down 5.4 rebounds and shooting a team-best 40.5% (60 for 148) from 3-point range.

He was a three-time Big Ten freshman of the week and a third-team all-conference pick by the media.
“Ohio State: I am inexplicably prideful to say that I am a Buckeye, and I say this with no uncertainty. To be a part of this brotherhood was a dream of mine growing up, and with this freshman year under my belt, I can say that it exceeded my expectations by a long shot.
“A special thanks to my coaches for their teachings and trust. To my teammates, I love y’all boys and I will never forget the numerous memories that we made together. Thank you to the loving fans and everyone who has ever shown love to me as a Buckeye.”
His season came to a premature end when a knee injury suffered in a Big Ten Tournament second-round win against Iowa would sideline him for a quarterfinal win against Iowa and semifinal, season-ending loss to Purdue.
Sensabaugh is projected as a mid-to-late first-round pick. The G League Elite Camp will be held May 13-14 in Chicago leading into the draft combine May 15-21. Players wishing to withdraw and return to school have until the end of May 31 to do so.
