Ohio State's win vs. Notre Dame brings in record-breaking TV ratings in Week 1
When No. 2 Ohio State hosted No. 5 Notre Dame Saturday night, people were tuning in in nearly record-breaking fashion.
The Buckeyes' prime time matchup with the Fighting Irish garnered 10.5 million viewers, nearly 3 million more than any other game during Week 1 of the college football season, beating Florida State vs. LSU, Georgia vs. Oregon and Michigan vs. Colorado State.
According to ESPN, Ohio State vs. Notre Dame was the most-watched regular-season game on its networks since 2017 and the second-largest audience for a Week 1 Saturday game on record.
The 10.5 million viewers for Ohio State vs. Notre Dame topped all regular-season college football games in 2021 except for the Buckeyes' loss to Michigan, which earned 15.9 million viewers.

For adults ages 18-49, Ohio State's 21-10 win against Notre Dame recorded 3.36 million viewers.
The 10.5M for Notre Dame/Ohio State on Saturday topped all regular season CFB games last year except Ohio State/Michigan (15.9M in week 13, 11/27/21).

Ohio State was at the center of the college football world in Week 1, hosting ESPN's "College GameDay" with rapper Jack Harlow serving as guest-picker.
The Buckeyes will take on Arkansas State at noon Saturday on Big Ten Network.
