OHSAA football computer rankings: Moeller, Badin, Wyoming remain top seeds

Three Southwest Ohio schools are top seeds in the Sept. 20 release of the OHSAA football computer rankings as composed by JoeEitel.com. Moeller stays on top in Division I in addition to gaining No. 1 in the Ohio media poll . Monday. The Crusaders are currently projected to begin their postseason with Middletown.

Sixteen teams advance to the postseason so as things stand now, Colerain, Sycamore and Walnut Hills would be non-qualifiers. Right now, the 8-9 matchup would be intriguing with Mason of the Greater Miami Conference facing St. Xavier, which has won the last two Greater Catholic League-South titles.

Defending state champion Winton Woods is currently ranked by the computer behind Xenia in Division II, so the Warriors would line up against Harrison the No. 15 seed at this point in time. La Salle would sneak in at No. 16 to be paired with top seed Xenia. Currently, Loveland and Aiken would be eliminated.

Undefeated Badin leads Division III, Region 12 and would line up with No. 16 seed Dayton Carroll if it all began this week. A marquee matchup to watch if everything stands would be No. 3 Western Brown against No. 14 Monroe. Earlier this season, Western Brown beat the Hornets 65-51. Wilmington and Goshen are among the Division III schools beyond the allotted 16.

Wyoming's Cowboys continue their run in Division IV, Region 16 and would face No. 16 Bethel-Tate as things stand now. A possible Greater Catholic League-Coed playoff game based on the numbers would be Fenwick the No. 3 seed hosting No. 14 McNicholas. CHCA, defending Division IV champion Clinton-Massie and Batavia are at the time, out of the picture.
