Oil spill reported at Tweed New Haven Airport

Staff from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection have contained and continue to clean an oil spill at Tweed New Haven Airport on Saturday, a state agency spokesman said.

According to Paul Copleman, DEEP media relations manager, the agency responded to a spill caused by an overturned refueling truck at the airport.

“The fuel leak has been contained and there is no impact to waterways. DEEP staff and a contractor are currently on-site assisting with removing the spilled fuel,” Copleman said.
