South Korean singer and actor Ok Taec-yeon, also known as Taecyeon, has signed a deal with William Morris Endeavor (WME), one of the largest talent agencies in the United States.
The 34-year-old star, who is known for being a member of the JYP Entertainment K-pop boy group 2PM and starring in popular K-dramas such as "Vincenzo," will be represented by WME for his activities in the U.S.
51K, Taecyeon's South Korean agency, announced the news on Monday.
We are happy that Taecyeon, who has been expanding his reach as an actor thorough [sic] various projects including “Vincenzo,” “Hansan: Rising Dragon,” “Blind,” and more, signed a formal agent contract with WME, one of the representative agencies in the United States. Taecyeon added:
I’m excited and happy to take on a new challenge. I talked a lot with the local agency. Although it will not be easy to take on a new challenge in an unfamiliar environment, I think it is a good opportunity to learn a lot. I will work hard to show another side of me as well as new charms of Ok Taecyeon on a broader stage.
WME houses stars such as Michael B. Jordan and Tom Holland and South Korean talent like directors Park Chan-wook, Bong Joon-ho and actor Bae Doo-na.
