Okaloosa County School District begins Angel Tree Program for students in need

NICEVILLE — For the first time, the Okaloosa County School District will hold an Angel Tree Program to help students in need this holiday season.

"Every day, our schools take care of our families, and we as a district want to add a layer of support by asking our community to join us in making sure our students have a happy holiday," stated Superintendent Marcus Chambers in a news release.

Here's how to get involved

There are two ways members of the public can sponsor a student.

If interested, you can visit www.okaloosaschools.com to complete an online form requesting to sponsor a child. Once the form is completed, sponsors will receive information about a student within 24 hours via email.

You also can visit the Okaloosa County School District office, 202 A Hwy 85 North, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Dec. 4. Once at the office, you can select an angel from the tree.

All gifts should include the student's angel tag, be wrapped and returned to the district office by the end of business on Friday, Dec. 15.
