OKALOOSA ISLAND — Recent changes to the construction plan for Boat Basin Two on Okaloosa Island could push the expected completion of work to the end of August.

Previous plans called for the work to finished by Aug. 3.

The basin now has new decking, floating kayak/paddleboard launch pads and eco pilings for changes in water levels. The completed basin will also have a dedicated paved parking lot and ponds for stormwater retention. A circular drive will wrap around a landscaped median.

The basin and the 2-acre county-owned access stand just east of Cobia Avenue directly across Santa Rosa Sound from Fort Walton Landing and across Santa Rosa Boulevard from the county beach access No. 2.
