OKC mayor's race leads Feb. 8 list of municipal elections
The first elections of 2022 are set for Feb. 8 and local residents will cast votes to decide on municipal and school board leadership as well as a number of bond initiatives for improvements to schools, streets, parks and more.
The elections will include several races, including three mayoral contests set for cities in Oklahoma and Cleveland counties. If a candidate in any of these races does not win more than 50% of the vote, the race will go to a runoff on April 5.
Oklahoma, Canadian and Cleveland counties will also see city council elections across several municipalities. Candidate websites are linked where available.

Oklahoma City
Four candidates have filed to run for mayor of the state’s most populous city. Incumbent David Holt faces challengers Jimmy Lawson, Carol Hefner and Frank Urbanic for the position.
Midwest City
Incumbent Matthew Dukes will face Charles Wallace, Ren Caldwell and Bill Bridges in an effort to retain the position of mayor in Midwest City.
Midwest City will also select city council members for Wards 3 and 5.
Ward 3: Megan Bain, Españiola Bowen and A.J. Bailey
Ward 5: Christine P. Allen and Sara Bana

Norman
Incumbent Breaa Clark will run again to retain her job as Norman’s mayor, but she will face four additional candidates on the ballot. Challengers Larry Heikkila, Bob Thompson, A.E. Stephenson-Leuck and Nicole Kish all filed to run in the race.
Norman will also vote on city council races for Wards 2, 4, 6 and 8.
Ward 2: Lauren Schueler and John D. Argo
Ward 4: Helen Grant, Teresa Borum, Gale Hobson and Doane F. Harrison
Ward 6: Elizabeth Foreman and Alexander W. Torvi
Ward 8: Matt Peacock and Scott Dixon
Yukon
Yukon voters will decide between Rodney Zimmerman and Richard WJ Cacini for the position of city councilman for Ward 1.

Warr Acres
The city council position for the City of Warr Acres - Ward 1 will be decided Feb. 8. The candidates for the race are Judy Myers and Joseph Shiff.
The Village
Residents of The Village will face two propositions to determine whether a set of bonds, valued at over $12 million, will pass for use on streets and parks throughout the city.
Local School Board and Bond Elections
In addition to the races listed above, several local school districts will hold elections for new school board members. Additionally, bond elections for multiple districts will have residents cast votes to determine funding for a number of proposed school improvements.

Residents in the Norman, Edmond, Mustang and Piedmont school districts will vote for school board members. Voters in the areas served by Choctaw-Nicoma Park, Edmond, Deer Creek and Robin Hill school districts will decide on bonds for improvements to schools that range from new classrooms and storm shelters to buses and more.
