Josh Giddey found the NBA All-Rookie voting amusing.

The Thunder guard quote tweeted the results, announced Wednesday night, with two crying laughing emojis.

Giddey, who was named All-Rookie second team, presumably believed he was worthy of a first-team nod.

Instead, the five first-team spots went to Toronto’s Scottie Barnes, Detroit’s Cade Cunningham, Cleveland’s Evan Mobley, Orlando’s Franz Wagner and Houston’s Jalen Green.

Barnes, the Rookie of the Year, was a unanimous first-team selection along with Cunningham and Mobley.

Joining Giddey on All-Rookie second team were New Orleans’ Herbert Jones, Denver’s Bones Hyland, Chicago’s Ayo Dosunmu and Indiana’s Chris Duarte.

NBA draft lottery winners and losers: Magic, Kings, Thunder boost fortunes with favorable draws

Among second-teamers, Jones received 32 first-place votes, Giddey received 24 and Dosunmu received two.

A global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters voted.

“If it happens, it happens, but at the end of the day I’m not worried,” Giddey said in his exit interview when asked about postseason rookie awards. “Winning more games is more important to me than all the rookie teams or Rookie of the Year and stuff like that.”

Giddey, whom the Thunder drafted with the No. 6 pick, turned in a terrific rookie season. The 6-foot-8 Australian point guard was a four-time Western Conference Rookie of the Month.

Giddey averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. He led all rookies in assists per game, and he ranked second in rebounds and seventh in points.

In January, Giddey became the youngest player to record a triple-double in NBA history. He went on to tally three more triple-doubles.

Giddey was well on his way to a first-team All-Rookie selection, but a February hip injury derailed his case. Giddey only played in one game after the All-Star break. He missed the final 23 games of the season with what was officially listed as hip soreness.

Giddey played in 54 games, which put him well behind the first-team selections. Wagner played in 79 games followed by Barnes (74), Mobley (69), Green (67) and Cunningham (64).

The five first-teamers ranked one through five among rookies in total minutes. All surpassed the 2,000-minute mark. Giddey played 1,700 minutes, which ranked 10th among all rookies.

No other Thunder rookie received an All-Rookie vote.

In addition to Cunningham, a former OSU Cowboy, being named a first-teamer, former OU guard Austin Reaves received two second-team votes.

Unlike All-NBA voting, All-Rookie voting isn’t based on position.

Players received two points for a first-team vote, and one point for a second-team vote.
