OKC's Myriad Botanical Gardens to host Tulip Festival on Easter weekend

Downtown Oklahoma City's 15-acre botanical garden plans to hold its first Tulip Festival during Easter weekend to usher in the beginning of spring.

The Myriad Botanical Gardens on 301 W Reno Ave. announced it will host the inaugural Tulip Festival on April 8 and April 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival will include spring blooms, art displays, live music, scavenger hunts, and dozens of merchandise vendors and food trucks.

Organizers are also planning additional family-friendly activities including carousel rides, photoshoot opportunities, and face painting. Admission to the festival is free.

In addition to the Tulip Festival, a community-led, tulip-themed art exhibit will be showcased in the Visitor Lobby gallery, along with a floral arrangement in the newly-renovated Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Admission to the exhibition will cost $10.50, with discounts available for children, students, military members and older adults.

Garden staff also said the Myriad Gardens Foundation accepts donations and membership to continue developing public events like the festival for the benefit of the local community.
