The calendar at one of Oklahoma City's oldest outdoor concert venues is heating up and should have music fans even more eager for spring, summer and fall.
The Smashing Pumpkins, The Black Crowes and Slightly Stoopid have all announced this week upcoming shows at OKC's Zoo Amphitheatre, 2101 NE 50.
Grammy winners The Smashing Pumpkins will play May 17 at the venerable OKC venue on their “Rock Invasion 2 Tour." Bones will be the special guest for the show.
San Diego, California-based Slightly Stoopid will perform Aug. 18 at the Zoo Amp on their "Summer Traditions 2022" trek. The tour's name is a nod to the summer outdoor amphitheater circuit the band has performed annually since 2007, a tradition that has been scrapped for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The Black Crowes Present: Shake Your Money Maker" will make an Aug. 24 stop at the aOKC amphitheater. The "Hard to Handle" hitmakers also are set to play Oklahoma shows Aug. 26 at Durant's Choctaw Grand Theatre and Aug. 27 at Miami's Buffalo Run Casino.
Texas country rockers Whiskey Myers are currently slated to open up the Zoo Amphitheatre's 2022 season with a May 13 concert on their “Tornillo" trek, featuring guests Shane Smith & The Saints and Goodbye June.
