Oklahoma achievers: Francis Tuttle teacher receives honor; Students receive All State honors

Local students receive All State Actor honors

Five Mustang High School theater students received All State Actor honors performing "Anatomy of Gray" at the State One Act Play Festival in Tulsa.

All State Honors cast members are Kinley Ogdahl, Leia Eads, Gwyneth Duncan, Braden Higgins and Jesse Davis. The Top Female All State was won by Leia Eads.

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) One-Act Play contest is a competition where similarly sized schools present an 18-40 minute play and may be adjudicated by a panel of judges.

Oklahoma City Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns honors advocates

Mayor David Holt honored three individuals whose work improved the lives of people with disabilities and recognize two individuals for their service to the Oklahoma City Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns.

The committee was established in 1951 under Mayor George Shirk as an outgrowth of President Harry Truman’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped, and the Oklahoma Governor’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped.

The Committee on Disability award winners are:

  • Rachel McLemore, communications officer for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services received the Public Personnel Award.

  • Laura Martin, Deputy Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society received the Inclusivity Award.

  • Not Your Average Joe Coffee Shop received the Employer of the Year Award.

  • Herb Bailey who serves on the committee with loyalty, dedication and honor toward the betterment of Oklahoma City’s citizens with disabilities received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

  • Dr. Henry Asin who serves on the committee with loyalty, dedication and honor toward the betterment of Oklahoma City’s citizens with disabilities received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Francis Tuttle consultant receives honor

Robert Aldridge has been named 2022 Safety Professional of the Year by the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (AASP).

Aldridge, a consultant in Workforce and Economic Development at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, was nominated for his work quality, dedication to excellence and personal character in the development and delivery of workplace safety information. He was also cited for his work within the Oklahoma City chapter of the ASSP that has made it one of the most successful chapters in the nation.

ASSP is a global association for occupational safety and health professionals dedicated to creating safe work environments by preventing workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses.
