Oklahoma City East KOA Holiday Campground honored

Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA), the world’s largest family of family-friendly, open-to-the-public campgrounds, is pleased to announce that the Oklahoma City East KOA Holiday Campground has earned the 2023 KOA President’s Award and the KOA Founder’s Award.

The KOA Founder’s Award is the highest service award. It is awarded exclusively to campground owners and managers who attain world-class scores in both customer service and the KOA Quality Review.

The KOA President’s Award is presented to those campgrounds meeting exceptional quality standards and who receive high customer service scores from their camping guests. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience.

Heritage Hall teacher wins at Maine Chinese Conference

Heritage Hall Upper School Chinese teacher and World Languages Department Chair Jessie Maeer earned Teacher of the Year honors during the 2022 Maine Chinese Conference.

The award will be presented at the 20th Maine Chinese Conference scheduled for Oct. 27-28, 2023, in Bangor, Maine sponsored by the Chinese Language and Culture Center of Maine and Bangor Chinese School.

The Maine Chinese Conference seeks to highlight opportunities for cooperation between the United States and China in education and business. Among its primary goals is encouraging the teaching of the Chinese language and culture and empowering educators through resources and professional development.

CV Tech grad heads to national competition

Canadian Valley Technology Center Digital Media Technology graduate Drew Stomprud, was named All-American mascot and is heading to the UCA College Nationals in mid-January at Walt Disney World.

Stomprud will compete with the best mascots from across the country. Stomprud, 20, is a sophomore at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.

Current CV Tech Graphic Design students helped him prepare for nationals by designing props. “Judah Lion” is the small private school’s mascot’s official name. Stomprud is a 2021 graduate of Yukon High School.
