Oklahoma City man, 28, dies in rollover crash in Wheeler County

An Oklahoma City man died in a rollover crash in Wheeler County on Sunday night.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 was eastbound on Hwy. 152 approximately eight miles west of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, at about 11:25 p.m., when it veered off the roadway and traveled into the south ditch.

The pickup truck rolled over, ejecting the unsecured driver, who was identified as Timothy Currie, 28, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. DPS said the truck came to rest upside down in the ditch.

Currie was pronounced dead at the scene by Wheeler County Justice of the Peace Natalie Thomas.

The posted speed limit was 75 mph, and road conditions were dry and clear at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.
