OKCPD: Child found safe after car stolen with him inside

UPDATE 9/7, 10:38 a.m.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, an arrest has been made regarding Wednesday’s stolen vehicle and Amber Alert.

OKCPD says 29-year-old Ryan Winkler was taken into custody around 7 a.m. Thursday morning in the area where the stolen vehicle was found near SW 77th and Douglas.

Winkler has been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of Kidnapping, Child Neglect and Larceny of an Automobile.

Update 9/6, 4:25 p.m. – According to KFOR’s Hunter Elyse the crime scene unit is now on the scene.

Officials say 2-year-old Ryland Penner has been found safe after he was inside a car stolen from northwestern Oklahoma City.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Police Department issue an Amber Alert and are actively searching for a stolen vehicle with a 2-year-old boy inside.

Officers were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near 4900 N. Harvey Parkway.

A woman parked her car running with the child still inside when a man jumped in and drove off, according to OKCPD.

Police are searching for a 2019 Infiniti QX50 with license plate JEP-370.

The child is wearing a gray tank top and red shorts.

He was buckled in a car seat.

Officials say the suspect is described as a white male, 6’0″, dark hair, and dirty clothes.
