A former Canadian County sheriff’s deputy has been accused of sexually assaulting a female detainee.

The 28-year-old officer is accused of committing second-degree rape while taking a woman from the Bryan County jail to the Canadian County jail for an outstanding warrant on July 20.

On July 25, the Canadian County sheriff’s office asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to help investigate the case.

While taking the woman between jails, the man stopped his vehicle in a remote location near State Highway 70 and Antioch Road in Marshall County, where he is alleged to have raped her, OSBI said.

He was booked Monday into the Marshall County jail.

The man is no longer employed by the Canadian County sheriff’s office, authorities said.
