Oklahoma man dies in rollover crash on Interstate 40

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Durant, Oklahoma man is dead after a rollover crash on Monday night, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

James West, 58, was driving a 2007 Ford Escape eastbound near mile marker 330 on Interstate 40 just after 9:30 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway.

West’s vehicle then hit a barrier before stopping in the westbound lanes of traffic.

OHP says West was ejected from his vehicle and run over by an unknown second vehicle. West was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash report says that seatbelts were equipped in West’s car but were not used.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, according to OHP.
