Oklahoma man killed in McDonald County crash

Jan. 9—A man from Afton, Oklahoma, was killed and a Carthage woman injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 43, about a mile north of Southwest City in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Driver Irvin W. Roach, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by a McDonald County deputy coroner, the state patrol said. His body was taken to Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson.

The other driver, Idania J. Monterroso Ortiz, 21, was taken by ambulance to Integris Grove Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma, with minor injuries, the patrol said.

Monterroso Ortiz was driving a southbound Honda Pilot that crossed the centerline and struck Roach's northbound Chevrolet Malibu head-on, the patrol said.
