Oklahoma man wins $1 million Mega Millions prize

An Oklahoma man thought he won $10,000 in the Oklahoma Lottery, but when he went to claim the prize, he was actually a millionaire.

The Tulsa man, whose identity remains undisclosed, checked his ticket on Aug. 5 and vistied the Oklahoma Lottery Winner Center to claim his prize.

There he learned he had actually won a $1 million Mega Millions prize, becoming the 79th millionaire of the Oklahoma Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold at the QuikTrip located at 5955 South Lewis in Tulsa.

On Tuesday, a fortunate winner in Florida won the $1.35 billion Mega Millions prize, which ended a stretch of lottery futility that had lasted for nearly four months.
