Oklahoma Sooners ranked No. 1 overall for NCAA women's gymnastics regionals

NORMAN — OU's women's gymnastics regional will have an SEC flair.

The Norman regional field, announced Monday, will feature not only the top-ranked Sooners — who will join the SEC for the 2025 season — but also No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Kentucky and No. 17 Arkansas.

The field will also include No. 16 Ohio State, No. 22 Illinois, No. 25 Iowa, No. 30 North Carolina State and No. 34 Ball State.

The regional runs March 29-April 1, with the Sooners competing for the first time March 30 at Lloyd Noble Center.

This is the second consecutive season OU has hosted a regional.

The Sooners were a late addition last season after Illinois, which was originally chosen as a host site, had to back out due to the lack of hotel rooms.

OU, last season's national champion, enters the postseason No. 1 with a National Qualifying Score of 198.355. Florida is No. 2 with an NQS of 198.110.
