Oklahoma State Cowboys Sports Minute

Oklahoma State's softball team is headed to the Super Regionals. The No. 7-seeded Cowgirls (44-12) will host No. 10-seeded Clemson (42-15) in a best-of-3 series after beating North Texas 2-0 on Sunday in Stillwater.

North Texas needed to defeat OSU twice on Sunday to advance further in the NCAA Tournament. The Mean Green didn't go easily in the first game as it held the Cowgirls scoreless until the top of the sixth inning.

Miranda Elish broke a scoreless game with a solo home run, then the Cowgirls added another run on an error. Kelly Maxwell retired North Texas over the next two innings, and Oklahoma State advanced to its third consecutive Super Regional. ...

Oklahoma State is seeded fourth for the Big 12 Baseball Tournament, which will be held this week at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Seeds were determined late Saturday after each team finished their regular-season schedules.

OSU (36-18) will face No. 5-seeded Texas at 9 a.m. Wednesday. TCU is the tournament's top seed.

The men's golf team is headed to the NCAA Championships. Oklahoma State tied Georgia Tech for top-team honors last week at a regional on Ohio State's Scarlet Course.

The Cowboys and Yellowjackets had a 54-hole total of 842, which was 14 strokes better than third-place Ohio State

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra of Oklahoma State was the tournament medalist. He had a three-day total of 206, which was one stroke better than Georgia Tech's Ross Steelman.

The NCAA Championships begin Friday and run through June 1 at the Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale, Arizona.
