Three things to know about OU vs. East Carolina
► OU put its suffocating defense on display against UTSA. The Roadrunners recorded the same number of turnovers as made field goals (15), and the Sooners converted those mistakes into 19 points.
► East Carolina's size could present a problem for OU. The Pirates' starting five boasts an average height of 6-feet, 8-inches, while the Sooners' first unit is an average height of 6-feet, 5-inches. East Carolina's shortest starter is 6-5 point guard Tristen Newton, who is averaging a team-high 19.7 points per contest this season.
► Thursday's matchup marks the first-ever meeting between OU and East Carolina. It also marks the Pirates' first game against a Big 12 opponent since they played TCU in 2005.
