Oklahoma winter weather updates: Hazardous road conditions, dangerous wind chills on Friday

Roads in central Oklahoma remain slick and hazardous after this winter storm system's final bands of snow have moved into eastern Oklahoma.

Below freezing temperatures and sub-zero wind chills will keep most of the snow around for a couple days. Most of the Oklahoma City area saw 4-6 total inches of snow.

According to the National Weather Service, a gradual warming trend this weekend will start to melt off snow before average temperatures return next week.

OK County courthouse remains closed Friday

The Oklahoma County Courthouse and Annex will remain closed Friday due to ongoing effects from this week's winter weather, officials announced.

The closure affects all county government offices and courts.

Online payments for various fines and fees can still be made through the county website at oklahomacounty.org.

For those that have to get out and about Friday, here is a cool tool to use before you hit the roads.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has a live road conditions map where you can view photos from snow plows and mounted traffic cameras.

Roads are still slick and hazardous throughout Oklahoma as below-freezing temperatures will keep snow from melting much on Friday.

Dangerous wind chills in Oklahoma Friday

Even though the snow has stopped in central Oklahoma, residents will still have to deal with sub-zero wind chills.

With highs not expected to get out of the 20s Friday, wind chills will stay at or below zero degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, the high in Oklahoma City will be around 22 degrees Friday before inching just above freezing Saturday.
