Oklahoma woman killed by wing of plane while riding lawn mower at airport
McCURTAIN COUNTY — A woman was killed by the wing of a plane while riding a lawn mower last week, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Samantha Hayes, 27, was on a riding lawn mower at the Broken Bow Airport just before 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 23. A 70-year-old pilot had touched down on the runway when he saw Hayes.
The pilot tried to pull the plane up but was unsuccessful. The wing struck Hayes and she was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
