Hi foodies,

Fayetteville may be thousands of miles from Munich, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get our Oktoberfest celebration on.

Upcoming events in the area feature German food, live music, and of course, beer. Prost!

Here are a few going on around here this weekend. Be sure to visit each fest's website for detailed schedules and more information.

Bright Light Brewing Company at 444 W. Russell St. in Fayetteville hosts Oktoberfest trivia tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. International Cravings food truck will be on the premises from 5 to 8:30 p.m. with a special menu, including bratwurst and Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese. Taproom hours are from 4 to 10:30 p.m.

Dirtbag Ales at 5435 Corporation Dr. in Hope Mills hosts Oktoberfest festivities Friday through Sunday. Food trucks will be on the premises throughout the weekend, and on-site restaurant Napkins will serve a special German menu. On Friday, the brewery will release two new beers, and a Bavarian Brass Band will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, Alpha Rouge Athletics will host German field games from 2 to 6 p.m., including a stein-holding competition. On Sunday, vendors will sell their wares at the farmers market, and the 1789 band will play from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Christus Victor Lutheran Church at 1201 Hope Mills Road hosts Oktoberfest from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday. German-inspired food and beer will be for sale, with proceeds benefiting the church.

Happy eating,

Taylor
