A home doubleheader this coming Saturday could launch Oklahoma Wesleyan University softball team into the NAIA Top 25 and possibly into the driver's seat of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.

Coming out of last weekend's sweep of York (Neb.), the Lady Eagles glided into this week with a 23-5 record overall and 7-1 in the standings. They trail first-place Ottawa (Kan.) University (23-4, 8-0) by just a half-game.

Saturday's twinbill against Southwestern (1-18, 0-6) starts at 1 p.m. at the OKWU softball complex.

Following are summaries of last weekend's wins.

Wiese also collected the pitching win during a six-inning stint that saw her scatter five hits, allow four runs, walk seven and strike out 12. Salem Liebenthal earned the save by striking out the side in order in the seventh inning.
