PORT ORCHARD – A 63-year-old Olalla man was injured in a crash after his vehicle crossed the median on Highway 16 and hit a truck Wednesday afternoon, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

The Olalla man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was injured in the crash and taken to Tacoma General Hospital, the release said.

The man was driving a car westbound on Highway 16 near the Tremont Street overpass shortly before 2:30 p.m. as the truck was driving in the eastbound lanes of the highway. The Olalla man's vehicle was traveling too fast for the conditions and left the roadway, crossed the median and struck the other vehicle, the news release said. The two vehicles came to rest in the median.

The driver of the truck was not injured. Both vehicles were totaled.
