Looking to chow down on some Middle Eastern fare? A new spot has you covered. Located at 114 Chestnut St. in Old City, the new arrival is called Sofra.

Sofra, which debuted in December 2019, specializes in cuisine from the country of Jordan, according to its website. The menu features chicken shawarma sandwiches, hummus plates and banana pistachio shakes.

With a four-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Sofra seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Asma K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 6, wrote, "Best shawarma I've had in a long time and a whole Middle Eastern breakfast in just one plate."

And Amal K. wrote, "I love the muhammara dip, which comes in a dish featuring a variety of dips served with pita bread, along with the hummus. The music and vibes are chill. Great place for authentic Middle Eastern food and delicious shakes, too."

Head on over to check it out: Sofra is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 10 a.m.–3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
