Old Town Alexandria Restaurants Taking Thanksgiving 2020 Orders

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Whether you’re skipping a big Thanksgiving celebration due to the coronavirus pandemic or simply prefer to enjoy a tasty meal while skipping the hours of cooking and massive pile of dishes, you will have options come Nov. 26.

In fact, several restaurants in Old Town and around Alexandria will do all the Thanksgiving Day work for you.

In case you need a recommendation of where to order food for Thanksgiving, Patch compiled a roundup of local restaurants taking orders.

An important note: As the number of daily coronavirus cases continues to surge, Virginia and other states are imposing new restrictions on businesses. Patch encourages you to call any restaurant on this list in advance to double-check hours.

  • Mia's Italian Kitchen: The restaurant will have a prix fixe menu featuring Italian cuisines made from scratch. The menu includes dishes like Pumpkin Raviolo, Brick Roasted Turkey, and a sweet Pumpkin Panna Cotta made with candied walnuts and a rich dark chocolate. Orders are $49 to serve two, $89 to serve four and $129 to serve six. Pickups will happen on Thanksgiving from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Joe Theismann’s Restaurant: Diners can pre-order Thanksgiving a la carte menu and thanksgiving specials. Menu items range from $5 to $39 with entrees like Joe’s Favorite Spirale & Chicken ($17), 45 Day Aged Filet Mignon ( $39), and a Ciber Brined Roasted Turkey ($19). There will be to-go pickups on Thanksgiving with options to feed two, four and six.

  • Vola’s Dockside Grill and Hi-Tide Lounge: Seasonal items like Winter Greens Salad ($13), Herb Roasted Turkey ($23) with whipped potatoes, green beans amandine, and lemon-thyme gravy, and a classic Pumpkin Pie ($7) have been added to the à la carte and to-go menus. There will be to-go pickups on Thanksgiving.

  • Bistro Sancerre: The restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Diners can get dine-in, takeout, curbside pickup or delivery of Thanksgiving meals.

  • Elizabeth's Counter: Pre-order the Thanksgiving half dozen for curbside pick-up on Nov. 25 or 26. On Thanksgiving, it is open from 8 a.m. 10 a.m. with takeout or curbside pickup.

  • The Majestic: For $69 The Majestic has a prix fixe menu for dine-in or to go with dishes like Rotisserie All-Natural Turkey, Roasted Root Vegetable Salad, Slow Roasted Duck Breast, or an Autumn Risotto made with roasted kombucha squash, baby kale, and charred onions & mushrooms, topped with parmesan cheese. There will be to-go pickups on Thanksgiving.

  • Laporta's Restaurant: On Thanksgiving, the restaurant will serve a three course soup, salad, turkey dinner with all the trimmings and dessert. Dine-in is $59.99, and curbside or carryout is $49.99. It is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving for in-person dining, takeout, curbside pickup, or delivery.

  • TJ Stone's: The restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving for dine-in, takeout and delivery. Three-course and family style meats and sides are available for pre-order.

  • Magnolia's on King: The restaurant will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving for curbside pickup only. Pre-order by Nov. 25.

  • Bastille: The restaurant will be open from noon to 6 p.m. for dine-in and noon to 3 p.m. for pickups of pre-orders.

  • King & Rye: The restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving with dine-in and takeout. Family-style meals are available for takeout on holidays, and a three-course meal is available for dine-in.

  • Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap: Lena's will have a Thanksgiving meal package to-go and Thanksgiving specials at Lena's Oasis. For every Thanksgiving Meal Package ordered and every Thanksgiving Day reservation made, Lena's will donate $9 to ALIVE! which helps neighbors in need with food assistance.

  • Sonoma Cellar: Book a table from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. or get the special $25-per-person Thanksgiving menu to go.

  • Bugsy's Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar: On Thanksgiving, only the bar will be open. For Thanksgiving, there will be a $50 dinner for two with an appetizer, any two entrées or any two small pizzas and a bottle of wine.

  • Union Street Public House: The restaurant is offering a Thanksgiving dinner with the turkey and sides, or customers can purchase sides à la carte. Union Street Public House is not open on Thanksgiving but has pickup of Thanksgiving meals on Nov. 25 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Hank and Mitzi's Italian Kitchen: The restaurant will be open only for pickup of pre-ordered meals on Thanksgiving. Orders were due on Nov. 19 for the meal, which includes turkey, gravy, sides, pie, seafood and beverages. Takeout and delivery are available.

  • Hank's Oyster Bar: Hank's-Giving To-Go Dinner orders were due on Nov. 19 and include turkey, gravy, sides, pie, seafood and beverages. It will be open only for pickups of pre-orders on Thanksgiving.

  • Oak Steakhouse: The restaurant is taking dine-in reservations on Thanksgiving.

  • Chart House Alexandria: Reservations are available for Thanksgiving.

  • Virtue Feed and Grain: The restaurant has special Thanksgiving items on Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in addition to the regular menu.

  • Warehouse: The restaurant is open on Thanksgiving and has a Thanksgiving turkey dinner menu.

  • Trademark Drink + Eat: A three-course Thanksgiving dinner will be offered from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for $35.

  • Brabo: There will be a three-course family-style meal on Thanksgiving for $75 per person. Reservations will be required with an allotted time. Masks are required to enter.

  • The Wharf: The Wharf will be offering a special fixed course menu for Thanksgiving Day.

  • Gadsby's Tavern Restaurant: A Thanksgiving menu will be offered for $56 per person.
