Old Town Serbian adds Sunday brunch and happy hour specials, more food and drink news

Old Town Serbian Gourmet House, 522 W. Lincoln Ave., is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the addition of Sunday brunch and happy hour specials on Thursday through Saturday.

The new Sunday brunch will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the menu features Serbian-style breakfast items such as a spinach, egg and cheese burek made with layers of phyllo pastry dough, baklava pancakes, sweet or savory crepes, schnitzel and egg, smoked salmon, and the Old Town Burger.

Also, on Thursday through Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., happy hour specials include a flaming coffee drink with Serbian liquor, Serbian wine or brandy flights and a bar menu of foods including a Serbian charcuterie featuring pickled vegetables, a Serbian fish fry, baked feta, and handmade chocolate truffles scented with Serbian brandy. The Pfister Hotel is hosting a Fairytale Tea, themed 'Frozen'

Fans of Disney’s “Frozen” are invited to make reservations for a Fairytale Tea on April 6 at The Pfister Hotel, 424 E. Wisconsin Ave.

Seatings start every 30 minutes from noon through 2 p.m. and feature tableside tea blending with scones, sandwiches and pastries, as well as a “Frozen” themed treat to take home. Elsa, Anna and Olaf will make special appearances, and guests are encouraged to dress up as a fairytale character.

Don Julio tequila tasting coming at Saint Kate - the Arts Hotel

Handcrafted, luxury tequila will be available to sample at “A Don Julio Tasting Experience” on April 8 at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel.

Guest host Vanessa Leon from Don Julio brands will teach guests about the history and special characteristics of Don Julio tequilas. Seven varieties of tequila will be paired with featured cocktails for sampling, along with a selection of tapas created by Executive Chef Paul Funk.

The event begins at 3 p.m. in the Saint Kate’s Arc Theatre, 139 E. Kilbourn Ave. Tickets are $55 each. Reservations are required. saintkatearts.com/events

Wauwatosa Fiesta

The Wauwatosa Woman’s Club at 1626 Wauwatosa Ave. will host a Mexican Fiesta on April 20.

The evening begins with a social hour and a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. followed by an enchilada dinner with rice, beans, salad, chips, salsa and desserts. Mexican beer, margaritas and mariachi music are included. The event is open to the public.

The cost is $40 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 12. Reservations are due by April 13. Order online at wauwatosawomansclub.org

Pilot Project Milwaukee tours

Pilot Project Milwaukee has started offering brewery tours at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Fridays, and 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m Saturdays.

A tour of the new facility at 1128 N. Ninth St. includes the backstory of the craft beer incubator, which offers assistance to start-up breweries in recipe formulation, production and business development. The tour comes with a complimentary taster glass and five 5-ounce samples of beer or kombucha.
