Olde Towne Community Summer Bash

Olde Towne will hold a community summer bash and volunteer appreciation day, 4-7 p.m. Saturday, July 9. There will be live music by Skip Groove, 50/50 drawing, door prizes, games, and activities for adults and children, Powell's BBQ, and Snowie of the Carolinas (slushie truck). The bash is located at Olde Towne Community Park, 10171 N. Olde Towne Wynd, S.E., Belville.

Calabash Summer Concert Series

Top 40, classic rock, and country music will be performed by Cat 5 Band, 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Calabash Town Park, 868 Persimmon Road. Hot dogs, kettle corns and treats available. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Free. 910-579-6747.

Ocean Isle Beach Movie in the Park

Come and enjoy movies under the sky with friends and family this summer as Ocean Isle Beach host Movies in the Park. “Encanto” 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Town Creek Park, 11 E. Second St. (weather permitting). The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. Food vendor on site. Sunset Beach Sound Waves concert series

Jan Michael Fields Band performs classic rock, current hits, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at the Village Park gazebo, 1791 Queen Anne St. Free.

Christine Martinez Band (Americana) will perform 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at Franklin Square Park, 130 E. West St., downtown Southport. Free. Bring a blanket or chair.

Associated Artists of Southport Summer Regional Art Show

The Associated Artists of Southport are presenting their Summer Regional Art Show now through July 23 at Franklin Square Gallery. The exhibition will showcase recent original works of art by painters and potters working throughout the lower Cape Fear region. The show will feature 3D and 2D works in a variety of media, styles, subject matter and techniques. An opening reception will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 8. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and is located at 130 E. West St., Southport.

Oak Island Concert Series

Too Much Sylvia will play beach music, funky '70s Motown, retro '80s, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, July 8 at Middleton Park Amphitheater, 4610 E. Dolphin Drive. Free.

Ocean Isle Beach Summer Concert

Also known as the Peggy Hughes Concert series, Band of Oz will perform beach music, 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 8 at Town Center Park, 11 E. Second St. Free.

Navassa Homecoming Festival

The Navassa Parade Committee presents the Navassa Homecoming Festival, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Navassa Township District Park, 800 Park Ave. There will be a dedication ceremony, food trucks, games, various vendors, face painting, music, corn hole tournament, special performances by Futureent Records Artists and other entertainment.

Holden Beach Concert Series

The Entertainers will play beach, R&B, rock, country, and Top 40 music, 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at the pavilion under the Holden Beach bridge, 131 Jordan Blvd. Refreshments available for purchase. Bring chair or beach towel. Free. 910-842-6488.
