New Oldham County Kroger is expected to open soon. Here's when, what to know

The long-awaited Kroger coming to Oldham County will officially open its doors on Wednesday, according to a news release.

The new store opening opening at 2835 S. Highway 393 in Buckner will have several amenities, including a sushi bar, an interior Starbucks with a seating area, and a 20-pump gas station, the largest gas location for the company in Kentucky.

The new store will also have a Little Clinic health care center and a Wine & Spirits Shoppe, according to the release.

The store will open at 8 a.m. and the first 250 customers in line will receive a $15 gift card. Kroger Plus Card users can also save 20 cents at the gas pumps in Buckner until Nov. 14, the release stated.

"There will be opportunities for shoppers to try samples and new flavors in every grocery category," the release stated.

During the grand opening, Deputy Judge Executive Kevin Nuss will proclaim Nov. 1 the official "Kroger Day," the release stated. The store will also have a mural of the community of Buckner created by Louisville-native Amie Villiger Harris.

The store broke ground last year, although the company had acquired the land since 2015, The Courier Journal previously reported.
