Ole Miss men's basketball is looking to score a fifth straight win to open the 2022-23 campaign when it takes on Stanford in Orlando, Fla., on Thursday to begin the ESPN Events Invitational.

The Rebels (4-0) have taken care of business in all four of their home games to kickstart the season, but haven't always been convincing in doing so. Ole Miss topped UT Martin 72-68 in its most recent outing. The Rebels are led in scoring by Matthew Murrell, who is averaging 17.8 points and 5 rebounds per game. Murrell has scored at least 16 points in three of the Rebels' four games so far.

The Cardinal (2-2) should provide an interesting test for Kermit Davis' crew. Stanford has two losses, but has played a much more challenging schedule up until this point. Its defeats have come to San Diego State and Wisconsin, with victories over Pacific and Cal Poly. Senior guard Michael Jones, with 13.8 points per game, is the Cardinal's leading scorer.

The winner and loser of the game will play either Florida State or Siena on Friday. Winners of the two matchups square off at 11 a.m., losers in the following game at 1:30 p.m.
