OXFORD — Ole Miss basketball is looking to score its fourth straight win to begin the 2022-23 season when it hosts UT Martin on Friday.

The Rebels (3-0) have made a habit of playing teams close before putting them away late through their first three games. They needed a hot stretch from Matthew Murrell to help them survive a scare from Chattanooga at home on Monday.

Murrell leads the Rebels with 18.3 points per game, the only Ole Miss player to average double-figure scoring. Ole Miss will be without key guard Daeshun Ruffin. He hasn't yet played this season for Kermit Davis as he recovers from a knee injury that ended his freshman season.

UT Martin (2-2) is riding a two-game winning streak into SJB Pavilion, but both of those victories have come against opposition outside the Division I ranks. Former Troy guard KJ Simon leads the Skyhawks with 16.3 points per game. Coach Ryan Ridder is in his second season in charge after winning just eight games last season.
